Save your paint from hardwater damage this year

How to Prevent Damage

The best protection is quick action. Here’s what to do:

 1. Remove Water Spots As Soon As Possible

If the spots are fresh, you can use distilled white vinegar to help loosen and dissolve the minerals. Spray it on, let it sit briefly, then rinse and dry.

Once water spots have been sitting for more than a couple of days vinegar will no longer be effective.

 2. Use a Dedicated Hard Water Remover

Your next line of defense is a specialized hard water remover designed to break down mineral buildup safely.

💡 (Stay tuned — we’ll be announcing a brand-new hard water remover from Detail Studio Products in early 2026.)

 3. Light Polish for Stubborn Etching

If the water has already begun to etch into the clear coat, you may need to use a light polish like our Impressive Polish on the affected area to smooth the surface and restore clarity.

Final Tips

  • Always dry your car after washing to avoid new spots

  • Avoid parking where sprinklers can hit your car

  • If you notice water spots, act quickly — time and heat make them worse

Protecting your paint is easier when you know what to look for — and taking action early can save you hundreds of dollars in repairs down the road.
